Tanlay is a small village on the Canal de Bourgogne, 6 locks and 9km away from Tonnerre. Its claim to fame is a superb French Renaissance castle – I’m quoting from the guide-book here! It is pretty impressive, but the guided tour through the interior was somewhat less so.
